Where Furlio Began

When our founder’s poodle began showing signs of patellar luxation around age six, daily life changed in small but worrying ways—limping, skipping steps, lifting one leg, struggling to rise, and sometimes hesitating to put weight down at all.


A veterinarian recommended avoiding soft sofas, unstable pet beds, and slippery floors. The answer that kept coming up in pet communities was an orthopedic dog bed. But the best-known options felt too expensive, especially for something so essential.

Our Journey

Discovering What Dogs Need

Before creating the first bed, we discovered that thicker foam does not always provide better support. True orthopedic comfort relies on the right combination of thickness, density, firmness, and layered construction.

building the first prototype

The first bed was handmade at home using layered foam and a simple cover. The goal was to create stable support that dogs would actually use, not just a soft surface.

Testing the prototype showed clear results. Dogs rested more comfortably, limped less, and moved more freely, confirming that the design addressed real needs.

Designing for Real Homes

Our founder wanted every bed to be practical and durable while blending seamlessly into a home. Using a furniture-grade, zip-off cover, the bed provides lasting support and looks stylish in any living space.

Expanding to the Community

When friends and other pet parents saw the difference, they asked for their own beds. This feedback shaped Furlio into a brand that combines veterinary-informed design with everyday practicality for dogs and their families.
